2011:  The New Old San Antonio: Stories From The Little Big Town*
In association with: Hausmann Millworks, The Lawrence Art Center, The Spencer Museum of Art, The Beauty Art and Life Movement (Lawrence, Kansas). Beginning as a conversation with Lawrence Kansas in 2010 with “The White Show”, and continuing the conversation with multiple installments through 2009 – 2012 in both Lawrence Kansas and ending in San Antonio, Texas with The National Convention for The Arts through The San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs and Hausmann Millworks.

2010:  A Studio Visit with Rex Hausmann of the series “Ithica” that was shown at The Institute of Texan Cultures as part of The Texas Contemporary Artist Series curated by Arturo Almeida.

2009:  The year of construction built to be destructed & enjoyed.
On Dean Street in Brooklyn, New York a sculpture was constructed that barley fit into the space. It was filled with 2500 paper air planes, referencing Rex’s brother Erik. Erik used to make paper air planes as a young child out of anything he could get his hands on. This installation was called “This Is My Body, This Is My Blood.” referencing the nature of art, geographic location and an artist shearing what is so personal with the world.

Built and filled by the community of Lawrence one of the “Room Benders” was made to be destroyed. Everyone in the space engaged. The wall was completely destroyed showing what was hidden beneath a humble façade. This was part of “The White Show” started in The Signs of Life Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas that latter traveled between Lawrence Kansas and San Antonio Texas.

The Small Gallery 4 in Blue Star Contemporary Art Center located in San Antonio Texas, filled to the brim with community, shared vision… and The Texas Cannons of Proportion.
